Mazda Tech Drive: Exploring the Mazda6e Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Karl Reindler: Welcome to Mazda Tech Drive. Today we're taking a closer look at some of the Human Machine Interface (HMI) features available in the all-electric Mazda 6e.

The Mazda 6e has been designed to make everyday interactions with the vehicle simple, intuitive and personalised.

Customisable Steering Wheel Shortcut Buttons

One example is the pair of customisable shortcut buttons located on the steering wheel. These star-shaped buttons can be programmed to provide quick access to frequently used vehicle functions, helping drivers access key features with minimal distraction.

To customise a shortcut button, simply press and hold the desired star button on the steering wheel. This will open the personalisation menu on the central display, where you can choose from a range of available functions and assign your preferred shortcut.

Depending on your preferences, shortcut buttons can be configured to provide quick access to features such as steering wheel heating and other commonly used vehicle settings.

Voice Control with "Hi Mazda"

The Mazda 6e also features an intuitive voice control system designed to make interacting with the vehicle even easier.

Drivers can activate voice control by pressing the microphone button on the steering wheel or by using the wake phrase, "Hi Mazda".

Once activated, the system can respond to a variety of voice commands, allowing drivers to control selected vehicle functions without needing to interact directly with the touchscreen.

For example, saying "Hi Mazda, open sunshade" allows the vehicle to operate the sunshade through a simple voice command.

These intelligent features are designed to create a more convenient and connected driving experience, helping drivers stay focused on the road while accessing the functions they use most often.
